Sister Mitzi Gates // Week Thirty-Nine

Another busy week!!
So transfers were great. My trainee is Sister Svedin she is from Napa, Idaho. Her birthday is this Thursday and she is turning 20. She is great!! I was really scared for transfers, because Elder Callahan gave me a blessing saying that she was a "special sister" so I was kind of freaking our. But it turns out it's special in a good way! It's so fun to see all my friends at transfers. So something crazy is the missionaries coming over from the Provo MTC, their flight was delayed. So they actually didn't get in until the morning of transfers. Usually you stay the Monday night in the mission home and get interviewed by president and sister Andersen. But they got picked up on Tuesday morning from the airport and were taken straight to transfers!! So he had to totally go by the spirit in who their trainers would be. That worried me too! But I love Sister Svedin. She's a hard worker and we
get a long great!!
This week we have just been visiting our normal people and less actives. Also for our hour of tracting each day we have had so many miracles!! Okay first we were driving and deciding where to tract. A couple places we went didn't feel right.. So we went somewhere else.
Then parked the car and when we looked up after saying our prayer this kid was walking with her head phones on. Perfect! So we hurry and got out and talked to him. He said he just recently found Christ and was getting back in. His name was Daxton And he was a junior in high school. We share the restoration on the side of the road and share about the Book of Mormon as well! He loved it. Then he said he has something that he recently told his family about, but he's trying to get help with. I was like okay..? Then he said he was gay. I was like okay.............. Haha then he asked if the Book of Mormon can help you with that. I said it has power to help you overcome anything!
Pretty cool. Weird situation!
Then right after that we went up and tracted this house. This lady Peggy answered and said she was Presbyterian but we could come in and leave a prayer with her. So we go in and start talking to her, she has to get a valve in her heart replaced and the. Some how we shared the restoration and the Book of Mormon and she said she would read it!! BOOM. Two miracles in one hour of tracting. We are being so blessed!!
Then as we were leaving I saw she was crocheting something's so I asked about it. Then she said do you have any little ones? I was like no but my sister just had a baby! She was like here take it!! It was a blanket, a sweater, a hat, and some shoes. The people in the south are amazing. They will give you their shirt off their back if you needed it. Super cool!!
Then we got a referral for Cynthia Mckelleb. So we went and visited her and she said that she just wanted a Bible. So we gave her one and then we started talking and come to find out I actually went to school with her nephew Allen Mckelleb!! The church is so small, but yet so big. I just got goose bumps. She is less active and has been. But she said we could come back and talk to her. It's amazing how Heavenly Father is proving miracles right and left for us to be apart of.
Then we played volley ball with the relief society on Thursday But we needed to tract some more, because we didn't get our hour of tracting in. so we hurry and changed, it was 8:30. So we tract by Cumberland University and it was one of the last houses we were going to. This guy John Sloan answers the door, he said he goes to church but he appreciates what we do. then he asked if we wanted a drink of water. Sister Svedin was like no... i was like yes!! If they invite you to come in, you take their offer. So we go in and then he asks if we believe in Jesus Christ.... yes. Then he asked if we celebrate Christmas.... yes. So that was good we cleared some things up!! But then we shared the restoration and the Book of Mormon and he was like well why don't we just set up a sunday school lesson! I was like great we'll come back next week!! haha it was AWESOME!! Then he said he owns a bar and grill and he said he would pay for our lunch whenever we wanted, just call him and he'll set us up. So score. Heavenly Father really does prepare people when we are exactly obedient!! MIRACLE!!!
Then Matthew Farmer got baptized this Saturday, it was amazing. I love being able to attend baptisms. such a great tender mercy!!
Okay so lad P-day sister tenney and i went to Mcdonalds because we got free coupons there! So we went and this kid was like hey what time does church start? I was like what? haha 9. then i didn't think much about it, i invited him and stuff. But then i walk into church and he's there!!! So i sit by him and expalin the sacrament and everything. Then after he tells me he's actually a member!! I felt so stupid. haha i'm just doing my job though;) He has been less active. but we requested his records and he said he would come back!! WAHOO!! McDonalds Miracle. hahah
We also while tracting yesterday we met another Peggy. She said she was baptist. but she invited us to sit on her porch and talk. So we did, come to find out she had a couple kids die, and her parents. So we shared the Plan of Salvation. Then we showed us a picture of flowers in her house and gave us a coke. (we are not suppose to have caffeine so that was awk) but we just sat and chatted with her and her husband Robert. such a tender mercy. again. I love the people of the south.
Glad everyone was safe out to Lake Powell. I sure love and miss you all! It's been super weird this week it's been 70 degree's all week. but it's suppose to get hottttt!! So it was nice while it lasted. I love my mission. I love the Book of Mormon. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I love my Heavenly Father. I don't really want to come home... this week has been exceptionally great. good thing i still have half my mission left!! WAHOO for my half way mark this week though. Love you all!! Thanks for helping me grow and supporting me. I am SO blessed.
