Sister Mitzi Gates // Week Twenty-Four

Conference was like the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Seriously it was like Christmas! We watched both sessions on Saturday
at the church. Then on Sunday we watched the first session at the
church, during the Sunday break the elders ordered pizza. Hahah they
called us the night before and was like hey! If we order pizza and pay
for it tonight so we don't break the sabbath do you guys want some? It
was so nice, and so funny! Haha then a member, sister Ingram had us
over for the last session and then we had dinner with her!
I LOVED that they talked about families being able to use Preach My
Gospel! I study that everyday and I learn something new every time.
Please do as the apostles have said, really take time each week to
really get familiar with it! It is such an amazing tool! If an 8 year
old can invite people to their church, then the least you can do is
open up Preach My Gospel and read it. I loved M. Russell Ballards
talk! Also I felt like a lot of the talks centered around being
grateful and keeping and remembering your covenants!
We are helping a family who has been married for 20 years and have 6
kids go to the temple this Saturday!! They are finally being sealed
together! We went over this week and I just wanted to scream for joy
because I am so happy for them! They said conference made them all so
excited too! Ah! They asked us to come... So I asked president, and he
said no because we are suppose to do the work for the living right
now. But that's okay! I'm still super excited for them!
Ah! So this week we had a great lesson with our investigator Joe. We
had a member come with us and they connected so well! We talked about
the assignment we gave him to read and we didn't even get to the
lesson! The spirit helped us for sure. It was so great! It feels good
to be teaching someone again!
I love being a missionary. I love being able to grow and learn from
trials. It's different out here because you actually have to rely on
The Lord to help you get through them, not just your parents! I love
you all! Use preach my gospel, remember your covenants, and be
grateful!!
