Sister Mitzi Gates // Week Thirty-Two

Well this was a great week!!
To start off we had a FHE with the Towrys, less actives, and we
watched the restoration and talked about that. The grandma who is not
a member said she will pretty much join if they decide to come back.
Her only concern is that when we take the sacrament it's not actual
red like the blood. She was like use cool aid or something, so we're
working on that!
Then I went on an exchange with Hermana Rich to Goodletsville //
Madison! It was so fun. Even though I can't speak Spanish... I
understood some of the words. It's so cool to think that Macey is
teaching people and speaking with the gift of tongues. Made me really
appreciate her! But we had some great experiences. I love the people
who are humble and so willing to listen to our message! There was this
little girl, Zhay, she is 9 years old, and her mom is in jail and she
wants to be baptized. So she is waiting for her mom to get out to be
baptized! It was the cutest thing! We taught her on the porch. Love
that girl.
Then on Thursday we had a Zone Meeting in Madison. I love being back
in my old zone! A lot of the people I know are in it! But we had some
great training, they always get me so excited to go out and work!
Also we had a GREAT lesson with Josh! So we had him come to the
church. 1. Because he can't get Sundays off, so he has never come to
church. 2. We have to have lessons on his porch because we don't have
another person and it's getting hot! So we took him around and showed
him all of the rooms and also all the pictures and what they meant. We
ended in the chapel, and we talked about the sacrament, and why it's
important to be baptized and take the sacrament. He loved that! We
left him to pray and have faith that Heavenly Father will change his
hours for work, or he'll be promoted, or get a new job. Every time I
say a prayer I make sure to include that! So please pray Josh will get
Sundays off somehow!! Also there was a member with us, Sister
Westbrook, they clicked so well! She even invited him over for dinner,
and for FHE sometime! Members are SO important. It was amazing. We
were actually suppose to do the church tour a day before but josh
canceled on us, we had a different sister coming with us. We know why
it was suppose to be canceled, because Sister Westbrook was so perfect
for him!
We are suppose to tract an hour a day, and we'll receive so many
blessings from it. Even though it's hot and I have sweat running down
my back and my hair goes curly and frizzy, there's just something
about testifying of our savior and the restored church on the earth
again. I use to hate tracting, but now I can hardly wait to see what
the next person is going to be like, or what church they go to. Then
it really makes it special when you are able to hand them a Book of
Mormon and they accept it! We usually have maybe one person like that
during our hour of tracting. Our teaching pool is getting a lot
bigger, and we are finding those elect and prepared people. I LOVE
BEING A MISSIONARY.
Also on Sunday our ward mission leader// gospel principles teacher has
8 kids, and he left the youngest at home on accident. When he went
back home to get her he said how she had tears in her eyes but she
just had a big relief smile of knowing her dad was there. Then he said
he thinks that's what it's going to be like when we see our father
again. I don't know why that hit me so hard, but I am so excited to
see my father again.
Random thing that happened, we were driving back from Hartsville, and
we saw a turtle and almost hit it! So we hurry and pulled over and
saved it. So that was neat. Haha
We also had to teach the 6-7 year old Primary class... That was
interesting! Haha they are crazy. I loved it though:)
Then we had to drive out to Hartsville to try a referral. When we got
there, the lady wasn't there. But her neighbors were and they were
some black ladies with their kids just sitting on their porch. We
started to talk to them, and they said they knew a little about our
church and "our bible" (the Book of Mormon) so I was like well "our
bible" is another testament of Jesus Christ, and explained that he
appears to the people in America. They loved that! Haha so we gave
them all their own copies, and they were so excited. Seriously that is
the best. I love when people are excited because it gets me excited!!
Transfer calls were this last Saturday, and I'm staying with Sister
Tenney! I'm excited. I really like working with her. We are working
together on building the ward, our teaching pool, and our testimonies.
This last week, right before Zone Conference I finished the Book of
Mormon. I LOVE THAT BOOK. I know I keep talking about it. But there is
just no one that book isn't true. It makes me want to share it with
everyone else!
Thanks for all the love and support! Keep sharing the gospel with
those you love! I love you all!
Question of the week: Do we know if those in the premortal life can
interact with those in the spirit world? I've been thinking about
this! And everyone I ask doesn't know. So family! Do some research and
let me know what you find out:)
