Mitzi Gates: Sister Mitzi Gates // Week Fifty-Four

Don't expect any thing less than a miracle.

19 And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles.

20 And the reason why he ceaseth to do miracles among the children of men is because that they dwindle in unbelief, and depart from the right way, and know not the God in whom they should trust.

21 Behold, I say unto you that whoso believeth in Christ, doubting nothing, whatsoever he shall ask the Father in the name of Christ it shall be granted him; and this promise is unto all, even unto the ends of the earth.

Isn't verse 20 just the greatest promise? Believe in miracles. He is a God of miracles if we have faith and believe. This week was full of miracles. I see miracles daily. I wish I looked at life like this before my mission!

Monday: we were tracting at 8:40pm and this guy, Caleb, let us in and we taught the whole restoration. He asked all the right questions, said we could come back. Miracle!

Tuesday: sister Cook lost her name tag that she has bad her whole mission, after a lot of prayer and looking, we found it. Miracle! Sister Jensen had us over for a Halloween dinner and invited her non member friend. Miracle! We went to the Amish store and found some pumpkins we liked. Miracle!

Wednesday: went on exchanges with Sister Levao from Samoa / Hawaii, this is her first area, and she is speaking Spanish. She opened up and said this exchange was inspired. Miracle! The two boys passed their baptismal interview. Miracle! We also found 2 new investigators while tracting. Miracle!

Thursday: the boys were baptized and people came. Also their mom who just got baptized 3 weeks ago gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Miracle!

Friday: it was 40 degrees and we knew we had to tract for an hour, so we did. And this guy Butch let us in, we shared a solid restoration lesson, he said we could come back too. Miracle! Enjoyed Halloween by passing out cookies to people who needed them in the ward. Miracle!

Saturday: we followed up with some potential investigators and they are totally solid. Miracle! It was 40 degrees outside and we tracted for 3 hours, and it went by fast. Haha miracle!

Sunday: he boys got the Holy Ghost in sacrament. Miracle! We had a pot luck after church with the whole ward, and the ward was unified. Miracle! We were driving to tract at night and this deer pops out right in front of us, sister cook didn't see it, so I yelled stop!! We slammed on our breaks and that stupid deer stayed right in front of us. I cannot explain how protected we were! (Dad you taught me well with always looking out for deer, sister cook says thanks for teaching me your ways) Miracle! Right after that we were tracting and this lady answered and asked if we wanted hot coco. So we go in and casually talk about the BOM and Jospeh Smith, and clear all of that up. They are looking for a church, and know some of the members in our ward. We left them with a prayer, we all held hands, by the time I was done saying the prayer, we looked up and both the parents were in tears. They felt the spirit, and said we could come back. Miracle!!

This next weeks miracle: Britton.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the Shipps. I know Tennessee is praying for them as well!

I feel humbled in many ways. Knowing that Heavenly Father is in charge... Being able to look at the eternal perspective just brings me comfort. It really makes you appreciate and think about what is most important in life.
