Sister Mitzi Gates // Week Fifty-Five

Such a solid week!!
So Monday we went to Kristens house (she's the chiropractor who adjusts us every Monday and is our investigator) and taught her a lesson. Can I just say most powerful lesson I have taught in a while?! It was truly guided by the spirit. We talked about the Plan of Salvation. The Elders have taught her everything, she just can't remember it. So we're teaching her again. But she had some great questions and concerns about it all. She seriously is a dry Mormon. She works with 3 other members, and is always asking them questions. But we taught her the whole plan of salvation, and her mom passed away, so she was worried about that. The spirit quided me to say "what if your mom guided you to this place, because she wants you to accept the gospel and do her temple work for her?" (Background: she picked a random spot on the map and moved there. She was definitely guided to move here). She was totally stumped after that question. But it was great!! On Sunday a member who works with her said she walked in on Kristen talking to one of the other members there, asking if they would do her temple work for her mom. WHAT?! She's next. We're so excited! We have an appointment tonight with her, and we are bringing a member.
On Tuesday we had MLC (missionary leadership council) at the mission home, from 8-5 long day. It's so fun being with all the leaders of the mission! Such solid missionaries. We got trainings all day on how to help our Zones. Then this week we will have Zone Meeting and give trainings to our zone!
Hat night we had a solid lesson with Caleb, we walk in with a me,bed and he's like want some home made jerky? I was like yeah! It was great. We talked about hunting and that broke some of the ice. Then we had a great lesson. Can I just say I am so grateful for members, because they started talking about all of this ology stuff and sister cook and I were so lost! Our member actually stayed after and talked to him more. Members are the greatest tool!
On Wednesday we had District meeting in Franklin at the stake center, right next to the temple! Love seeing the temple. But I gave a training on "Love is the motive" then we drove to green hill and switched companions.mi went to the Green Hills YSA branch with Sister Ashworth. It was so fun! We actually got to go to institute. Which was great!!
Then on Friday we had another exchange and I stayed in Nolensville and Sister Ferrin from Bellvue came here with me. We came out together! So it's fun. She is having a hard time. We set goals for our next 6 months and the spirit was really able to just use me as an instrument and comfort here. We went to a parade down in Nolensville. Pretty sure the whole little town was in the parade because we were like the only ones on the street with some members! Haha I love small towns. But then we went to the road show. That's where each ward does a skit and perform it in front of the whole stake. IT WAS AMAZING. Being in the Nashville stake, they went all out!!! They recorded all the kids before so it was official, we had judges that work with all the famous country stars. It was great! Our investigator Kristen actually came!
When we were at the road show, Brother Laker from the high council came up and said that the family we tracted into last Sunday, and we said a prayer with them and the parents cried. He said they were shopping at Costco and they came up to them and said they wanted us to come back!! MIRACLE!! Some one said they wanted us to come back! Haha we are so excited! Hopefully they are ready and prepared to hear more!
Mom I now understand the saying "Fake it until you make it!" but now I say "Faith it until you make it!" because there are plenty of times where I have no idea what to say, how to help them, and what to say to investigators. Through faith, being obedient and the Holy Ghost, you can make it through anything!! I feel so bad for Sister Cook who goes home next Tuesday! Haha that's terrible. I love my mission. So much. The Book of Mormon is the best. How's your reading of the BOM going? I love you guys!! Thanks for all your love and support!
