Sister Mitzi Gates // Week Fifty-Two

THIS WAS THE GREATEST WEEK EVER!!!! I am serving in the best mission in the world.
So I'll start with yesterday. Best birthday I've ever had. Oh my gosh. Amazing. So sister cook was great and made it special. We delivered a cake to a less active before church, we share the same birthday. He was so grateful, his wife is active and actually brought me a treat too. He said he wanted us to come over for dinner! He called himself a "stay at home Mormon!" Hahaha isn't that hilarious?! Well we get to church and we had to give a talk on Peophets. I actually really enjoyed it. It went great! Then for the special musical number Nathan Pacheco, he is a famous opera singer, he sang. Amazing! Also, after church Jacob and Nathan Waters came up to us and said they decided to be baptized. WHAT IS BETTER THAN THAT?! So YAY!! The rest of the Waters family will be getting baptized probably next Saturday. WAHOO!  Then after Elder and Sister Johnson (the first counselor in the mission presidency) brought us lunch and we headed up to the Madison Stake Center for a special mission meeting. DAVID ARCHULETA came. He sang, answered questions and it was amazing. I recorded some of his songs. He got home from a mission 7 months ago in Chile. He loved his mission. It was amazing. We sat on the second row. You know the song Glorious at the end of Meet The Mormons? Well he's the singer in it. The last transfer of his mission he actually recorded it as an Elder! How cool is that. Great song. Go listen to it! Then we all got together to do a mission picture. We actually did a Christmas one, that's why we had to wear white and red. David got in our picture too! President Andersen said no one can get a picture with him. Like no selfies or anything!! Then Elder Thorup wrote David Archuleta a note telling him it was my birthday. So president and Sister Andersen let me take a picture with him! I was the only missionary!! Haha it was so awesome!! Seriously coolest birthday ever. At the end of the meeting we sang called to serve with all the missionaries standing up!! I BAWLED. I think I was the only one... But my heart is so full. I am so grateful. I seriously love my mission. I am truly completely happy. True happiness. I LOVE MY MISSION MORE THAN ANY OTHER MISSIONARY IN THE HISTORY OF MISSIONARIES.
To go on, Monday we had a miracle! So it was 6 and we were going out tracting. Everyone was texting us telling us a tornado was coming. But the first door we knocked on we didn't even get some telling her our opening thingy and it just down pours!! She's like oh come in! So we go in and the news is on and there was a couple tornados close by. We then taught her the rest of the Restoration. WHAT A MIRACLE. As soon as we were done the rain lightened up and we left. Our phone was blowing up because our leaders said get into our apartments. But we were to busy teaching! Such a tender mercy.
We taught Wanda again this week about the plan of salvation. She knows all already. She took notes and took pictures of all the things we taught and showed her... It was kind of weird. She said her friend told her all about garnets and the temple and stuff.. So we're being careful with her. But she is progressing and loves to learn!
Then I went on exchanges with Sister Tebbs, she is from Utah and cheered for BYU for one semester. She's is a great Sister. We went to Bellvue. We rode the Bus like all day down to Nashvillw, then went to West Nashville. We were able to meet some cool people on the bus. Then taught at a members home! Great day so fun being able to see different areas and teach with different Sisters!
Then we had Zone Meeting on Wednesday. Where the whole Nashville Zone got together and the Zone Leaders and STLs gave trainings. So I gave a training on how to use the area book on the iPad and keeping it up. It was good. Sister Cook gave a training on Comp. unity and we did a fun activity.
Ryan Baldwin is an investigator we met while tracting and said we could come back. We had a member come with us to teach the restoration. IT WAS SO POWERFUL. Members make all the difference. I never noticed how awkward I have been become... but I have. The lesson was awesome. He is Methodist and said he could take another lesson, so in a couple weeks when he's back from work we will.
I keep having dreams about me going home and how mom, dad and macey are picking me up. My companion who is going home this transfer is making me trunky. So I wake up crying because I don't want to go home.... but I still have 6 months left. haha it messes with me so bad. But we are working hard.
I loved what Brother Archuleta talked about. How repentance and forgiveness is what has blessed him. He said the music business isn't easy, and it wasn't easy going on a mission. Every thing was about him before his mission and while he was on his mission it was all about others. I LOVED THAT. It's never al about us. We are all here, trying to help each other return back to live with our Heavenly Father. Why do we make it so hard sometimes? Lets lift each other up, forgive others, love them. I am so grateful for this gospel. I know it is true. I know the impact it has made on me personally and I want that so bad for everyone we meet. It kills me still when I know people are having a hard time... because I know the gospel will bless them. Please pray for missionary opportunities. Please share with others. You have the greatest knowledge, the eternal knowledge. Why wouldn't you want that for someone else.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes. It was amazing.
