Sister Mitzi Gates // Week Fifty // "I'm Never Coming Home!!"

This has been such an amazing week!!
Ashley and Kandace Got baptized!! It was great. In-between sessions on Saturday, and the ward support was amazing. We accidentally filled the water to high and all of a sudden it was so dirty and gross. So my district leader, Elder Lofthouse, who goes home on Tuesday randomly has a pool scooper cleaner thing. So he runs home and get it changes and cleans the font right before they get baptized. It was crazy! But I had to give the talk on baptism. It was good, they were both excited. James the dad and husband was the one who baptized them. Ka dace went first and she was baptized 3 times, then Ashley went second and it was once. They were so happy! Then bishop decided he didn't want to wait until next Sunday to give them the hokey ghost, so they received it Saturday. They were glowing. Then Kandace forgot a change of under clothes for the top. I randomly wore a blazer that day, but now I know why, because Kandace wore it after. Haha kinda funny! But the whole thing was amazing. There is no greater joy then bringing someone closer to Christ!
Transfer calls came and I am staying in Nolensville with Sister Cook! This is her last transfer, then she's headed home. We will stay STLs as well.
On Monday we taught this lady Wanda. We taught her the plan of salvation. There was a Funeral at the church, so we did it at a Wendy's. Hahah but she is progressing slowly, she just likes to think about things.
Then that night we drove to Green Hills and exchanged Sister. So I stayed in Green Hills with Sister Petersen, that night we taught this cute little Chinese lady, it was amazing. Then the next day come to find out I went to EFY with Sister Peterson's boyfriend! Small world! She is a great sister. It's amazing how much the sisters open up and just vent. I never know what to say, good thing the spirit helps me. I'm so grateful I get to have this opportunity! That night we went to this gated community called the Governors Club. That's where all the famous and rich people live!! We drove around and looked at house, our dinner appointment was actually in there. But before we went to dinner, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert live there, as well as Carrie Underwood. So we wrote in a BOM and found Blake and Miranda's house and ran to the door and just dropped it off!! It said "We love your work! We also really love this book and know it will bless ya'lls family! God bless!" Do you know how fast our hearts were beating and how excited we were?! Oh my gosh. I can't even tell you. The Grays, we went to dinner with, have family in Veyo at home, so it was fun to talk about that with them. I love going on exchanges. But they also told us the house we dropped the BOM off at wasn't Blake and Miranda's. It was Rascal Flats!! Haha we were a little disappointed, but hey, still cool!! Love them too.
Then on Wednesday we switched companions with the Hermana's. Hermana Stricklin came with me to Nolensville. She is like 23 and has had a hard life. It was cool to hear her story as well. I feel like I get to know all these amazing sisters so well! We had a great time together. Saw a couple potential investigators.
Then on Thursday I had one of those like "Coming to God" moment. You know those times when you just pray and plead with our father? Well he heard me. We went and tracted and I was so excited to tract! We have like no people to teach, so we tract a lot to find people. So we were tracting and its in the middle of the day, so a lot of people are at work. I was like okay Sister Cook. We have 6 more pass a long cards left, Heavenly Father, prepare someone! The next door we knocked. This sweet old lady Betty answered. We asked if we could leave her with a prayer, then she let us in. Then she told us she was crying this morning because her husband passed away a year ago and she never cries she said! We were like... Eh we need to share something with you! So we shared the plan of salvation. Her husband was Muslim, and she was expressing she wanted him to find Christ before he died. Then we shared the spirit world. She LOVED it. She kept saying we were sent to her! She loves everything we taught her. She kept interrupting to tell us how much she believes it!! The spirit was so strong. I know her husband and Heavenly Father wants Betty to accept it. The lord hears all of us, and answers our prayers. We set a return appointment. I love when we get to teach!! There is no greater thing then helping someone really understand our purpose in life. I LOVE being a missionary!
Then we went and visited the Simpson family in our ward. Come to find out she is in the SheDaisy band!! She is the red head one. I was like seriously?! So cool. Then we were talking and they know Reed Secrist! When Reed was out here for baseball, they were friends. Cool huh? So tell Reed that Steven and Kelsi Simpson say hi!
Also we visited a less active and her daughter sings. She also dated Hunter Hayes. The song Storm Warning is about her daughter! How cool is that? My mission is the coolest.
After dinner on Saturday we went tracting and it was 50 degrees outside. So cold!! But there was a house full of Catholics having a party. And right before some members took us out to dinner and we were just saying how full we were! So this guy answers and says they're having a party and he's not interested. Then he asks if we're hungry and if we want any food? I was like sure! I got the "what are you talking about, we're going to throw up if we eat anymore" face from Sister Cook. But you always say yes if people invite you in! So they gave us brisket and beans. I was going to barf, so I just talked and asked questions while sister cook ate. It was so funny!! They asked a lot of questions as well. Then we all joined hands and I prayed. Can you say intimidating? Can I say I'm so grateful the spirit is the one taking control. Haha
General Conference has been wonderful. Just what I needed. I seriously loved it. I wish we didn't have to wait every 6 months to hear more. I love my mission. I never want to go home. I seriously love the people out here each day. I love the culture. I just love my mission. Best decision I have ever made. I am so grateful for the atonement and how much it has blessed my life. I know it works miracles, I see it every time we commit someone to something, especially baptism. Mom, Dad, I'm officially going to be a missionary forever. I'll just let President know in my weekly email tomorrow;)
Steps to a stress free happy life, try it out! ----->    1. Pray 2. Study the scriptures 3. Do FHE 4. Go to the temple each week
