This week flew by so dang fast! Like where did it go?Well it's been a good one. On Monday we went up to brother Benitez andplayed soccer and ultimate frisbee. SO FUN! It felt so good to justsweat. But then you don't stop, I've never sweated like I did beforehere. Eh so sticky. But then we had FHE with the Towrys and grandmatowry who isn't a member sat in and said what she thought and it wasgreat! Slowly she is starting to be more open with us. The Towrys areback sliding a little, so that's really sad.On Tuesday we went and visited this lady Telena, she joined because ofthe elders and she is CRAZY. I have never met anyone like her in mylife. Well long story short we visit her with the elders because she'scrazy and this time she told me off. I was talking to sister Svedinwhile she was talking to elder chapman and oh my gosh. I just had tobit my tongue and take it. I've never been so embarrassed as well. ButI don't know how I didn't just walk out, I for sure was being helpedat that time.We also worked at the senior center and all the old guys kept hittingon me. Ew.On Wednesday sister Gregory took us out, it was raining like crazy. And we still have no one to teach, so we went through our old areabook and found some people to try. So we go and try them and this guyFly (that's his nickname, his real name is Hugh) but we were able toteach him the restoration and it was amazing., asked him if he wanteda church tour another day and he said yes! We had high hopes forFly... But he never showed up to the church tour or church. Bummer. On Thursday we were going some place and we needed to get gas. So westopped and got gas. Then the receipt never printed, so as I was goinginside I saw this lady crying in her car. So after I talked to her andher husband just took their son and left, she has been on pain pillssince she was 15 and it's a big mess. It's hard when you can't reallyhelp them with their problems, but I was able to share the Book ofMormon with her and invite her to read it. I shared ether 12:27 and itwas a great experience. I specifically prayed to have a missionaryopportunity and Heavenly Father trusted me enough to let me be apartof Jessica's life. I hope she reads it, I know she just wanted money, but man I love the Book of Mormon.Friday we were busy visiting less actives and that's always fun.Saturday we went out to Carthage. We had a media referral and a couplefair referrals out there. So we spent the day there. One of the fairreferrals was Ruby, we were able to teach her the restoration and gaveher a Book of Mormon. She even said we could come back and teach hermore! That's kind of hard though because she lives 45 minutes away. Sowere going to be having a lot of member help with all these fairreferrals! Wahoo. We got 330 and 66 of them are for Lebanon! So that'sexciting.Out in Carthage we also met a less active who is so solid. But losthis way! So sad. He also said we could come back. People like him Ifeel like just need someone to invite them back and have a friendtheir and they'll come back.On Sunday the Gregories talked in church and they were done superfast, so brother mccown got up and said I need sister gates to comebear her sister! Oh my. By the way President Abernathy was there onthe stand! I knew before he even said my name I was going up. So Iwent up and bore my testimony. I really didn't know what to say, itwas the coolest experience though. I really truly felt the Holy Ghostworking threw me. So amazing. Then we went to the Leon's and had a party for Mereanda going tocollege! Wahoo. That was fun! Then we were heading out to Hartsvilleand we stopped and talked to an investigator that we haven't been ableto catch at home. Such a tender mercy. We shared the restoration andit was great. She believes in the trinity, that is just so hard to getpast. But all is well! She also said we could come back.Later that night we drove to Hartsville because it's the end of themonth and we still had Miles! So we went and tried a few people. Wewent to this one house and it was dark and we couldn't do seeanything. We both kind of questioned ourselves and then I just hadthis feeling come over me like nothing before. We weren't suppose togo there. I am so glad we're being protected. I don't know what ofhappened. But I do know we weren't suppose to go.This week I was also reading and praying to have some questionsanswered. I kind of got frustrated and didn't think Heavenly Fatherwas hearing my prayers. But I opened my scriptures up and started toread. Psalms 6:8-9 8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; forthe Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. 9 The Lord hath heard mysupplication; the Lord will receive my prayer. It was the craziestthing. I know Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. Sometimesit's completely different than we think, but it's always for thebetter. I'm grateful we have the Holy Spirit to guide us and comfortus. I love my mission. More than anything. I was reading A Miracle ofa Mission by Elder Holland. And he says that no young man has everbeen so changed by his mission than his own. I believe no young womenhas ever been so changed by her mission aside from me. I love mymission. It's the hardest dang thing I've ever done. But I love it. Ilove my savior, I love the Book of Mormon and I love that we have alatter day prophet. We get to go to the temple soon and I can hardlywait! Why would you want to wait?Well I hope you all have a great Labor Day off! Happy birthday toGrandma Gates, Dad, and Travis this week!!
