We got transfer calls and I'm going to Paducah, Kentucky!!! I am so excited! In that zone we actually cover part of Illinois too, so that's pretty sweet. I've always wanted to serve in Kentucky!, I will probably finish my mission there. Also when we were in Ward council this Sunday I told them where I was going and they said they have this huge National Quilters Museum that's a big deal up there, then they all laughed! Jokes on them, I love quilting!! But the hardest part about leaving is saying goodbye. ITS THE WORST.
Well there was also a big miracle that happened! So Monday we were driving up to Aldi's to go grocery shopping. Then I saw the bus and was like "hey let's hop on and ride it to green hills today!" So we dropped everything we were doing and went. We just spent it with the Sisters serving there. Then on the way back, we were on the bus and we were trying so hard to write our emails. This guy sitting across from us said "are you nuns?" Hahah no. So I explained what we do. Sister Oldroyd was just ignoring him because she was writing her emails. So I keep chatting. Then he asks about the BOM and sister Oldroyd sees he's interested, so we shared the BOM with him. Right then and there he opened the BOM and started to read the introduction. Then he read all the testimony of the witnesses and everything! This is before we even got off. Well eventually we got his number and that was it. Well Friday morning we get a missed call and voicemail from him, Jeff. (Sister Svedin, they do call us first!) well he is a quarter of the way done with the BOM and wants to meet us. Haha okay we can do that! Over the phone he said "I want to take this 'dare' that this book is talking about and the Holy Spirit will tell me if its true!" Umm yeah glad you committed yourself to that! Well then we meet up Saturday and we being our recent converts with us. The waters couple! They were PERFECT. I got a little tears eyed in there when they were bearing their testimony. We taught him the restoration. He really enjoyed it. He lives in a half way house for being an alcoholic, so he is very restricted on where he can go. So hopefully they let him come to church soon. But that was the biggest miracle ever!!!
We taught Tasha this week too, the one with a baptismal date on the 14th. Well we taught her the plan of salvation. It was TERRIBLE!! Haha. It lasted an hour and a half. Brother pears took over the whole lesson. We would start explaining something and he would chime in and take over! Then when we would try and interrupt him he kept talking louder!! Haha I seriously had to slam my hands on the table and say brother pears, we are the teachers. You are confusing her! Sister Oldroyd was just laughing. I was so excited to teach this to her. The plan of salvation is my favorite. Plus her mom passed away, so I thought this would touch her! Well we did get her on one part, she cried. Then brother pears chimed in again........ Ugh. Well anyways it was just interesting! She said she wanted to wait to get baptized too.
Then this week we went on two mini exchanges in the same day. I went to green hills YSA with Sister Ashworth. We taught on TSU campus. It was pretty cool! Then that night I went to Providence C with Hermana Kilgore. We taught this family that got married and baptized this last weekend. I love going on exchanges! I always learn so much!!
We also taught the 12, 13, and 14 year olds Sunday school class! Haha there was 23 of them. We also taught them the plan of salvation! It was a little crazy. But it was fun to teach! We used my little cut outs again.I was very surprised at how much hey knew!
Then this week the Simpson family took us out to Corky's BBQ. Her parents came too. They actually know the Martins, Marissa and Kylee. Small world!
We also were taking to Martins BBQ out here too in Nolensville. I LOVE BBQ. That was the best kind i've had out here.
I am sad to leave, but i know some reason the Lord needs me in Kentucky!!
Love you! Have a great week.
